Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta Opens Nominations for 2025–2026 Women of Inspiration Awards

Fort McMurray, AB — May 12, 2025 — Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta, in partnership with Bouchier, is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025–2026 Women of Inspiration Awards. This year’s theme, Innovators & Pioneers, celebrates local women who are breaking barriers and shaping the future in STEM, entrepreneurship, and the creative industries.

Since its inception in 2012, the Women of Inspiration series has honoured 97 remarkable women from the Wood Buffalo region, providing young girls with empowering role models who exemplify strength, intelligence, and boldness. 

Nomination Categories:

      • Brilliance in STEM: Celebrating a woman who embraces curiosity, intellect, and transformative innovation.
      • Innovator in Enterprise: Celebrating a fearless woman turning vision into venture.
      • Creative Luminary: Celebrating a woman who illuminates new paths through the power of imagination and expression.
      • Renaissance Pioneer: Celebrating a woman at the intersection of science, business, and imagination.
      • Rising Star: Celebrating a woman who is a rising force in the fields of STEM, entrepreneurship, or creative arts.

Nomination Deadlines:

      • First Round Deadline: May 30, 2025
      • Subsequent Deadlines:

        • June 30, 2025
        • August 30, 2025
        • October 30, 2025
        • December 30, 2025

Each round will culminate in the announcement of honorees, with the final celebration taking place on March 7, 2026, at Shell Place, MacDonald Island.

How to Nominate:
Community members are encouraged to nominate women who:

  • Drive innovation and creativity.
  • Create positive change in their field or community.
  • Inspire future generations through leadership and resilience.
