Who We Are
Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is the longest running girls’ leadership program in the Wood Buffalo Region since 1979.

Our Story
Since 1979, our organization has been committed to empowering girls in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo—first as Big Sisters Society, and since 2004 as Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta.
Through free, empowering programs, we provide a supportive learning environment where girls gain the skills and confidence to succeed in school and life.
Girls Inc. delivers engaging, research-informed programs that are preventative, comprehensive, and designed to help girls grow academically, lead active and healthy lives, develop financial literacy, think critically about media, and explore interests in science, technology, engineering, and math.
