Girls' Empowerment Mini Gala
A night of empowerment and fun just for girls
Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is excited to present the Girls’ Empowerment Mini-Gala on Friday, March 6, 2026, at SMS Equipment Place — the first event in our two-day International Women’s Day celebration. This year, 150+ girls ages 9–15 from across the region will come together for an evening of confidence-building, connection, and joy.
In partnership with Athabasca Tribal Council, the Mini-Gala will feature an Indigenous Fashion Show, celebrating both traditional and contemporary Indigenous apparel created by local artists. The show will be curated and hosted by Geraldine “Ger” Carriere, Girls Inc.’s Cultural Storyteller — an artist, author, speaker, and entrepreneur whose work is rooted in empowerment, culture, and healing. Alongside the fashion show, participants will enjoy fun activities, music, snacks, and meaningful moments designed to uplift girls’ voices and help them step into their power. Dress code: “Dress Your Best” — anything that makes participants feel confident, comfortable, and themselves.
As always, registration is completely free, and opens early February 2026 on a first-come, first-served basis.
